The Sun-Herald City2Surf presented by Westpac entertainment lineup just got a whole lot bigger with the announcement of Australia’s biggest touring electronic music festival Stereosonic along with music’s greatest listening and running app Spotify, partnering with the Run Out Loud event.
With world-class music and entertainment acts including international DJ Hot Dub Time Machine and Stereosonic artists Fear Of Dawn performing live across the entire 14km course, runners can leave their headphones at home as they pound the pavement to the iconic Bondi Beach finish line.
Fairfax Events General Manager, Lisa Dowsett said she was looking forward to seeing the music and entertainment elements come to life at this iconic event.
“The Sun-Herald City2Surf presented by Westpac is the jewel in the Run Out Loud series and we’re thrilled to be able to bring the people of Sydney a fantastic lineup of music and entertainment throughout the whole course,” Dowsett said.
At the 4km mark, runners will be greeted by The Kombi Sound Bar with DJ Sasha Moon playing the best, high energy beats to keep motivation levels soaring. A further 2km along the course, Sydney Kings cheer squad, the Harlequins will ensure runners are pumped up to make it up Heart Break Hill.
Winners of the Mardi Gras best choreography in 2015, Rhythm Brazil will also join X-Factor contestant and recognised Sydney busker Axel Winter on course before the Roosters Cheerleaders and DJ’s Goodwill and Duncan bring runners down the final stretch near Bondi.
No music genre will be left unheard as the course hosts Mariachi and Rock Ukelele bands as well as a Cuban Salsa Flash Mob.
With the run just over 3 weeks away, runners can ramp up their training knowing they’ll be able to Run Out Loud with a music festival atmosphere along the whole course. Entry is still available via www.city2surf.com.au.
