With only four short weeks to go and tickets selling stupidly fast, Teknoscape published their 44 reasons not to miss Stereosonic. We’ve listed a few of their reasons focusing on the acts that tend to get overshadowed by the other massive names on the bill.
Sub Focus live – A UK bass sensation with 3 #1′s in the UK, Sub Focus tracks are played by every major dubstep act under the sun. They’ve toured with Pendulum and are absolutely amazing live.

Andy C – Consistently the highest ranked Drum & Bass DJ, as a producer he is responsible for discovering Chase & Status and Subfocus.
Mr Oizo – Eccentric indie filmaker and French electro producer/DJ from the Ed Banger records gang.
Pretty Lights – Coined as the new ‘Girltalk,’ there are three reasons to love Pretty Lights. One, he constantly sells out shows in the States, two, he plays headline spots at massive festivals including this year’s Lollapalooza and Glastonbury, and three, he makes all his music free to download.
BT live – A 15 year career as a producer, vocalist, film composer and trance DJ he is trusted by Sting, Britney Spears, Sarah McLachlan and Madonna to produce memorable hits – who can forget his classics ‘Flaming June’ & ‘Remember’?
Caspa Feat Dynamite MC – (dubs, decks & visual fx) Caspa is a phenomenal Dubstep artist that runs three labels. Known for the dancefloor anthem ‘Everybody’s talking,’ ‘Nobody’s Listening’ he’s remixed for Deadmau5 and Mike Snow. Prepare to get crazy with the friendly ghost!
Datsik – Emerging dubstep artist that produces a hip-hop future-tech sound. Having remixed for Diplo, Wu-Tang Clan and Crystal Method, Datsik is one to watch!
Lucy Love – A Danish lyrical genius who infuses grime, electro, reggae, she’s best known for her outlandish videos and innovative live performances.
Drop the Lime BAND – Brooklyn based 4 piece band known for their 50′s rockabilly techno sound with live bad boy Sinatra vocals layered over the top this is one unique act.
The Two Bears (Joe Hot Chip & Raf Daddy) – A collaboration between Joe from indie pop outfit ‘Hot Chip’ and Raff Daddy, they’re one of the hottest new acts on the circuit wowing crowds at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Guy Gerber – Sven Vath immediately realised his potential and signed him to his own label, ‘Cocoon’ in 2004. Currently Guy’s collaborating with hip hop mogul P.Diddy on a new album.
The Gaslamp Killer – Resident DJ at world-renowned Low End Theory club he plays an eclectic range of styles from psychedelia to dubstep and world music.
Deetron – On the scene since 1998, his hands on three-deck mixing style on bass driven tracks has earned him a formidable reputation.
Jochen Miller – This rising star has never shone brighter. Jochen’s debut album is set to be released this year and is tipped to be a never-before-heard crossbreed of progressive, electro and trance.
Peter Van Hoesen live – An up-and-coming Belgian bass producer who impresses by creating music that sounds utterly distinctive and forward thinking yet only uses a few elements.
Myon & Shane 54 – Currently ranked #62 in the world, this duo from Hungary joined forces in 2008 and has been pitched as the bright young stars of a new generation of producer/DJ’s
Jon Rundell – Carl Cox’s Intec Label manager and head honcho, Jon produces techno and fusion sounds for the masses.
Shockone – As the much hyped lead single to Shockone’s forthcoming debut album ‘Crucify Me Parts I & II’, hit the airwaves this June, it picked up high rotation on triple J and received over 500,000 plays on youtube in a matter of weeks, earning Shockone aka Karl Thomas the buzz as one of the major talents in bass music worldwide today. MC Stretch – Since being introduced to the Dutch dance scene in 1998 by MC Marxman, Stretch has become a regular voice on the microphone for some of the biggest organisations. Stretch appeared for Armin van Buuren on his ‘Armin Only’ world tour and featured for Ferry Corsten on his ‘Masquerade’ party in the Ahoy, Rotterdam, not to mention on both of Tiësto’s record breaking DVDs ‘Tiësto in Concert’ need we say more?
